Mapping the Path Forward: New Interactive Data Dashboard Reveals Scope of Kerr County Recovery Needs
KERRVILLE, TX – August 5, 2025 – To ensure a transparent and efficient recovery process, the Kerr Together Long-Term Recovery Group (KTLRG) has released an interactive Needs Assessment Dashboard. This tool provides a live, data-driven look at the impact of the Central Texas floods on our community, identifying where help is needed most.
The dashboard, hosted via Tableau, serves as a central resource for understanding currently unmet needs — the gap between what survivors have lost and the assistance they have received from insurance and federal sources.
Transparency in Recovery: Why Data Matters
Recovery is a complex process. By tracking verified loss and demographic data, the KTLRG can coordinate with 501(c)(3) partners to direct funding and volunteer labor to the most vulnerable households. This dashboard ensures that every donation is stewarded with maximum accountability.

Key Insights from the Report
Last Updated on December 17, 2025.
While the data is constantly evolving as new cases are processed, the dashboard highlights several critical areas of focus for the KTLRG:
- The Insurance Gap: A significant percentage of impacted households did not have flood insurance, leaving them dependent on federal aid and charitable donations for structural repairs.
- Vulnerable Populations: The data identifies high-priority areas where elderly residents, families with children, and low-income households face the steepest climb to recovery.
- Household Impact Density: Viewers can see a geographical heat map of the damage, showing how the flood path directly correlated with residential areas and local business corridors.
- Case Management Progress: The dashboard tracks the number of households currently being served by the Business and Individual Recovery Working Groups.
How This Information is Used
The KTLRG uses this assessment to secure grants, recruit specialized volunteer teams (such as those for river restoration or home rebuilds), and advocate for state and federal resources. For our donors, this data serves as proof of the ongoing need and a testament to how their contributions are being strategically applied.
Are you a survivor who hasn’t been counted? If your home or business was impacted and you are not currently working with a disaster case manager, get started by reporting your unmet needs to enter the recovery system.
