River & Environmental Working Group
Restoring the Guadalupe Valley
The mission of the River Working Group is to begin the process of restoring the Guadalupe River and its tributaries after the catastrophic July 2025 flooding event. Thousands of heritage trees were lost, banks were left bare, and the river ecosystem was exposed to a wide range of vulnerabilities. The River Working Group is working closely with local and regional partners to audit the condition of the river, seed and plant for the future, and actively plan for future disaster mitigation.
