Kerrville, Texas (Aug. 14, 2025) – The Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce the debut of the Basketball Knockout Tournament, a brand-new event designed especially for local basketball fanatics. The tournament will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025 in Carver Park, 820 Webster Ave.

This lively, enjoyable event is open to kids aged seven and older, providing a wonderful opportunity to stay active, engage in friendly competition, and enjoy the outdoors. Participants will compete for prizes, with extra giveaways and shout-outs for good sportsmanship throughout the day. All players will be organized into age groups: 7-9 years old, 10-12 years old, 13-15 years old, and 16+ years old. Each group will line up and take shots until someone makes a basket. If the player behind the first shooter scores first, the initial player is "knocked out" and must leave the line. The game continues until only one player is left, crowning them the winner.

Pre-registration is open until Sept. 11, or participants can register on the morning of the event beginning at 9 a.m. The registration fee is $15 per player, and space is limited, so it is recommended to register early.
